Are you one of the many single women in Orange County who’s falling for an older guy?

Our OC matchmakers know that dating an older guy has many perks and will definitely bring excitement into your life.

Older guys are very cultured, financially stable, and generally more put-together than younger guys. On the other hand, they also come with a lot of baggage.

Before you venture out and find yourself an older guy, consider these things.

Today our OC matchmakers are going to reveal the top things you must know about dating an older guy.

1. He’s not likely to go out with you and your friends.

He’s not going to hit the bars and clubs every weekend with you and your friends. Why would he? He’s already gone through the party stage and is more of a homebody type of a guy now. We’re not saying he’ll be in his PJs all day eating chips out of the bag, but he probably won’t want to party past 10 P.M.

If you’re not ready to settle down and need to go out every weekend, you need to reconsider dating an older guy.

2. He could still be a player.

Just because he’s in his 40s or 50s doesn’t mean he’s not a player anymore. One of the reasons he’s single today is probably because he loves to chase. We’re not saying that he’s playing you, but if he’s “so perfect,” then why hasn’t anyone snatched him up by now? Have you ever considered that?

3. You will have to keep him young.

Older guys are known for being set in their ways. They’re not the types of guys who are spontaneous and go with the flow. In other words, you’re going to need to show him a thing or two about staying young. Whether that’s playing modern music or watching a trendy show together, it’ll be your responsibility to keep him from slipping into his old ways. Can you handle that responsibility in the relationship?

4. You might feel childish around him.

We’re not saying you’re definitely going to feel like a child around him, but you very well could. If you don’t mind being around someone who pushes you to be more mature, then dating an older guy will be fine. If you’re easily intimated, it probably wont work out for you. He’s going to be more experienced, more cultured, and wiser. And he’s going to want a girlfriend who is mature and intelligent too.

5. People will judge you.

People are going to judge your relationship no matter what. Sure, he might not look his age, but that doesn’t really matter. Once you tell people that he is 10 or 15 years older than you, they’re going to have opinions – especially your family. They’re going to ask you why you would want to be with someone that is older than you. They’re going to want to know what you see in him. If you know you really love him, hopefully you have a good answer for them.
